As mentioned during the May 1st, 2021 I Spy Radio Show, a joint resolution, HJR18, is a simple sentence that reads, “Be It Resolved by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Oregon: Pursuant to ORS 401.204, the state of emergency declared by the Governor in Executive Order 20-03 on March 8, 2020, relating to the COVID-19 outbreak in Oregon, is terminated.” Short. Simple. To the point.
HJR 18 is currently in the House Committee on Rules. We urge you to copy and past the email addresses below, and ask they bring it to the floor. Be polite and respectful. But be strong. It can be as simple as “Please support HJR 18 and bring it to the floor.” It’s time to end the endless emergency orders.

In Oregon that’s not hard to do when we think about what people have endured over the past year. From businesses shut down orders, to losing their sole income—while watching bills pile up.
Victory in Federal Court: Overruling the CDC’s Power Grab
In all of this, renters were hugely impacted; they lost jobs only to find that no job might mean no home. So the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) stepped in and upended Constitutionally guaranteed property rights and declared a moratorium to evictions. Which sounds nice. Except, why is the CDC (which is hardly an economics agency) inserting itself into private property rights and contract law? And, as usual, Leftist thinking left out the other half of the equation.
Because on the flip side, people were taking advantage of the situation by not paying rent — and landlords were being forced into not being able to pay their investment mortgages that also kept the roof over the renters’ heads.
Southeastern Legal Foundation: Big Win over Government Overreach
It was bad enough that the government stepped in, telling business owners their revenue streams were shut off, causing disruptions of US free markets like never before. But then to declare that if renters can’t (or won’t) pay, they can’t be evicted. And there sat the landlords, footing the bills. Imagine if the CDC, with their economic insights, had deemed customers could walk into stores and take whatever they want and not have to pay for it. What other powers could the CDC seize for itself? Or what other rights could the CDC take away on a whim? Property rights are the cornerstone of the Constitution.
Enter Kim Hermann , the General Counsel for Southeastern Legal Foundation, which stood up to tyranny and sued to protect constitutional rights. And, in an exciting slam of the gavel, the judge determined the CDC’s moratorium on evictions was unconstitutional.
And suddenly with that decision the world started to right itself. Just a little bit.
We talk to Kim about what this case meant and what does it mean for upcoming cases in the future. We also talk to her about election laws, the Supreme Court’s decision to not hear any election fraud cases, and H. R. 1, the legalizing- election-theft bill just passed by Congressional democrats. She also talks about what the states are working on to correct that election integrity problems. Brave men and women who are stepping up to help fight another good fight.
Updates on Texas’s Green Energy Failure and on the Vaccines
Then, scientist Chuck Wiese returns to give us some of updates on two stories we recently talked to him about: the power grid situation in Texas and the covid vaccines. But before we dip into those, Chuck shares with us his own experiences of being a landlord and what’s happened in Oregon.

Reporting system is passive, meaning reports aren’t automatically added; “reports on VAERS represent ‘only a small fraction of actual adverse events,’ the site states” makes one wonder how many have not yet been filed
Laughable: “Health officials on the VAERS website caution that a report to the system doesn’t prove a vaccine caused the adverse event…” This from the same govt that counted anyone who died with a sniffle as having died from covid-19
CDC said on Jan 6 that “severe allergic reactions to COVID-19 vaccines were happening at a rate of 11.1 per million vaccinations, compared to the rate of 1.3 per 1 million flu shots” TEN times the rate for flu shots. But that can’t be correct. 11.1 per million, with 10.5 million getting the vax = 116 severe reactions total. There have been way more than that – including 55 that died. Almost half that 116 figure.

According to Biden’s statement: “The executive order also directs the secretary of interior to stop issuing new oil and gas leases on public lands and in offshore waters wherever possible,” Biden said, adding: “Let me be clear, and I know this always comes up, we are not going to ban fracking. We’ll protect jobs and grow jobs.”
“But the bigger and longer-lasting impact may be on how the market itself operates. Never before has a group of amateur investors taken on a hedge fund like this and won. The battle over GameStop has taken on something of a David vs. Goliath feel, with some people outside of finance painting it as a reckoning for parts of Wall Street.”
A hedge fund bet GameStop would drop, internet users bought up shares to make it rise, which meant the short seller hedge funds lost billions. $23 billion by one estimate.

Like in so many Democrat-controlled states, Oregon’s mandates and “emergency orders” have given many Oregonians pause, as we decide what are true “safety issues,” and which are actually eroding our constitutional rights. Especially when the orders consist of being locked into our homes or locked out of our favorite businesses. Or being told you have to wear masks, to the point of absurdity. (Recently, a Wyoming department even mandated people had to wear a mask, even if they were at home, alone, on a teleconference.) And all of that after the pretense of being falsely told that these orders would last only “15 days to flatten the curve.” Five months ago.
Mandates and Endless Orders
We’re told we must wear masks to enter a business. Or stand 6 feet apart. Or both. We can’t hug or shake hands. And you certainly can’t have any interaction, like churches or actually non-violent protests that might threaten the State’s power of telling us how to behave and think. Because, without exception, we are supposed to think that everything the state and our ‘dear leaders” tells us is for our own good. And cannot be questioned, opposed, or go unfollowed. Even if you believe some of these orders are immaterial, immoral, or even illegal. Not to mention unscientific. But, don’t you dare ask (or think) such things.
Where are All the Lawyers?
And what’s very interesting throughout this questionable time of panic-demic, we’ve wondered where are all the lawyers? Normally we would see a bazillion of lawsuits except now it seems many lawyers have been quiet. Why?
Well, it turns out there are some valid reasons and we discuss it on the show this weekend with Kim Hermann, General Counsel for Southeastern Legal Foundation.

Developing: We’re also hearing that hospital doctors, nurses, and other workers are being told—as a condition of employment—not to talk about health problems that result from mandates and state orders. So the state orders people to wear masks and stay home. And then they’re also ordering people not to to talk about the problems that result from those orders? Got it. Totalitarianism comes to Oregon.
Standing Up to Mandate Abuse & Liability
If you’re forced to shut down, who’s liable for the lost income? Who’s liable for forcing people into masks that now have shown to cause headaches, rashes, and a host of problems. Should, or can, the state, be held liable for the problems it created?
Where are the Lawyers on this? Where are all the class-action lawsuits?

This Week: On last week’s “best of” show with Scott McEwen, we discussed whether the corona virus was one of, if not the biggest, intelligence failures of all times. How did our intel community so badly missed what was happening in China? China Lied? Or something Else?
You have to wonder how the virus broke out of China and was spread worldwide when so many countries watch for those types of viral, biomedical attacks. Was it by accident? Or was there something much more nefarious?
If you remember when Trump first took office in 2016, even some senators were actually telling the intelligence community, “Don’t give Trump the full intelligence reports.” Given that, is it possible in 2020 some inside the intelligence community weren’t forthcoming about what was really happening inside China? Were there still deep state operatives who kept the truth from Trump on the corona virus as a set up to make him look bad? Even shutting down one of the most successful economies of all time?
But putting aside the maybe-they-did-maybe-they-didn’t, how is that one computer model, loaded with only guesswork from an rather small university in London manage to shut down the world so fast? Global warming enthusiast and supporters are most likely licking their lips as they see their dream come true—rule by mathematical modelling. But what does it prove? That if outcomes are scary enough people will adhere?
A Peek Over The Wall: China’s Perceptions of Itself and the West
We explore all those questions this week with geopolitical expert, Dr. Tim Ball. We usually have him on to talk Global Warming but this week, we tap into another of his areas of expertise. (Did you know Dr. Ball served in the military and had a top-secret security clearance?) We look at what the communist regime, their strategy, and the Chinese culture and history reveal about their truthfulness.
How China truly looks at the west, combined with how the West looks at China, makes for dynamic ripe for exploitation. We take a good, long look at China and examine how it’s unique geography and communist rule creates the perfect storm for a worldwide problem.
And we haven’t heard the end of “China lied.” Not by a long shot. Instead, things are only going to heat up. On Thursday, news began to break about federal investigators looking into some odd travel patterns by Chinese nationals in the early days of the Wuhan virus. The Tyranny of Experts
Fauci is a quintessential scientist, invaluable for his expertise in one area, but a constitutional dunce, a political dunce, an economic dunce. We should no more take his counsel on those matters than we should ask a top-flight lawyer or economist to develop a vaccine
Also, we look at how we’re now in an era of governing by computer models that can “prove” anything they want. And enslave societies to whatever the latest “scientific model” puts out. Did we miss the part where we entered The Matrix…?
And when it comes closer to home, not to mention our future, what will things look like on the other side of the virus scare? Clearly, going forward, we need more opinions and data than from just one source. But how do you fight the argument, “If we hadn’t done ______”? We talk with Dr. Ball to look at the impact of the few examples of “What might have happened” and how we can apply those to the U.S. and right here in Oregon.
Especially for next time. Because this new situation has many unintended consequences. And we need to think it through, thoroughly, so that we can be prepared for the next time a pandemic occurs.

One of the questions that has truly troubled us at I Spy is, if we’ve spent billions on healthcare in Oregon and 100s of billions nationally, where did all that money go? Especially in light of how unprepared medical providers were for a crisis.
Does anyone remember when Governor Kitzhaber ran on the fact that “we must be prepared” — and then tossed Oregon’s healthcare system on its ear in in his grand “health care transformation”? But from all reports coming out of Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and media services, prepared has turned into an oxymoron.
Corona Virus Lockdown: Questions for Bud Pierce
In our Part Two interview with Dr. Bud Pierce, an oncologist and hematologist specialist, we take on the numbers. Numbers that are being put out by Oregon’s own OHA, along with those from the federal governments, that depend on models so very reminiscent of climate change models. Overblown and/or unreliable but designed to evoke responses from the public.
One question we have is about the deaths. Deaths that, according to CDC guidelines, are being attributed to COVID-19 even without tests to verify they did, in fact, have the virus.
Theoretically, according to the guidelines, if you committed suicide, and might have had COVID-19, then Corona virus could be listed on the death certificate as the cause of death. Thus adding to the total of Coronavirus deaths. Is this just a little odd? We talk to Dr. Pierce what protocols are in place for how corona virus deaths are counted along with other troubling methods being used. And do we do this for other diseases?

86% of all cases located in just 6% of US Counties.
Why is no one with a megaphone telling you these facts?

This Week: As much of America starts slowing down, self-quarantining, or through social distancing, we’ve had to rely on the very media that many have wondered if they will ever be truthful, as we assess our way through this challenge. Difficult times for sure.
Challenges that we never imagined a few weeks ago, after a big win to stop Oregon’s cap and trade bill. Only to end up faced with corona virus, which many states’ governors have used to shut down the economy in their states.
To get a handle on these issues we talk to two people: attorney, James Hirsen, who specializes in media psychology, and Timber Unity’s spokesperson, and small business owner, Angelita Sanchez.
Media’s Corona Virus Panic-Mongering

First up is James Hirsen, offering his insights on the media’s irresponsibility on their reporting—or misreporting. And what a shame that truly is. President Trump fights to correct problems that Americans are facing—while having to fight off both media and Democrats attacks every step of the way. Apparently, the constant fight the last three years has given him the experience he needed to deal with Corona Virus.
It’s bad enough when the media lies or pushes outright hoaxes, but its perhaps even worse when many times the good news from the president, goes completely unreported. Instead the, media spends their energy sensationalizing the news, the very information we try to depend on to try to make good decisions for our businesses and families.

There’s a scene in Star Trek III when the crew of the Enterprise have stolen the ship and they’re being pursued by the Excelsior, the newest, fastest ship in the Federation fleet. The Enterprise goes to warp and the Excelsior prepares to give chase—only to have the engines grind to a halt and come to a dead stop. Scotty turns to Dr. McCoy, hands him some bolts, and says, “Here, Doctor. From one surgeon to another. The more they overhaul the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.”
And that’s pretty much what happened to Oregon’s health care.
Oregon’s Health Care: What Happened?
What happened? In a word: Democrats. In their zeal to push Oregon into “universal health care,” also known as “single payer.” Or, more accurately, “socialized medicine.”
A Look Back at Oregon’s Health Care
This week, we’re joined by Lisa Lettenmaier, the owner and operator of Health Source Northwest. Lisa is our go-to expert for health care, especially the “unique aspects” of Oregon’s health care market, given our lurch toward socialized medicine.

Oregon’s Health Care System Transformation
In 2013, then-Oregon-Governor John Kitzhaber, a huge proponent of single-payer/universal health care/socialized medicine introduced a grand plan for Oregon’s health care. It was generally known (in typical socialist lingo) as “Oregon’s health system transformation.”
Kitzhaber convinced Obama to spend billions on this new innovative health care system that was going to transform health care as we know it: improve care and lower costs. You read that correctly. We spent billions to lower costs.
It introduced regional monopolies known as “coordinated care organizations” (CCOs). This, despite studies that repeatedly shown that ACOs (associated care organizations, as they are known in Obamacare) do not save money. And do not improve care.
Oregon’s Coordinated Care Organizations
To set up these monopolies, they introduced legislation to bypass antitrust laws, violating the free market. The Oregon Health Authority (nice name, Nazis!) became the overseer of all things health. And the bureaucracies. Multiple layers of bureaucrats between you and your doctor. All of whom end up on Oregon’s PERS. A global budget that removed the ability to track monies allocated per patient. (Because that wouldn’t ever lead to abuse, grift, and corruption.) And a never-before seen cap on Medicare and Medicaid.
Basically, CCOs violated every free-market principle that would lower costs and improve care.
And, sadly, Oregon Republicans helped pass it. Yes, Republicans. How did this happen?
Useful Idiots: Oregon’s Republicans
Basically, the transformation was sold to gullible Republicans under the guise of “saving money” and “local control.” After the fact, they were “surprised” that this turned out to be a big giant push toward socialized medicine.
In reality, it shouldn’t have surprised any of them. Why? Because on the first page, the first paragraph of the bill it clearly said, “It is the intention of the Legislative Assembly to achieve the goals of universal access.” Yes. Universal health care. Single payer. No private health care. The finest that Venezuela has to offer.
True Stories of Socialized Medicine
Here’s a reminder: no democrat running for president has ever lived under socialism. Not one. That’s right. None of them have ever lived under universal health care. And yet Bernie and Warren and several others are pushing for both socialism and universal health care.
Know what’s funny? Have you noticed that when people in those universal health care systems run into trouble, they go to where there isn’t a universal health care system? Instead, they come here to the U.S. rather than waiting weeks or months for treatment.
Well, not everyone. Just the rich. And the politicians.

This Week: We’re talking with Lisa Lettenmaier, who, as an insurance agent pays close attention to the entire health industry, especially the insurance trade and health care/insurance costs. As we predicted and reported on back when the Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) model was first being implemented as part of Oregon’s health care transformation, our legislators had other motives and that their “cheaper better system would not work using the CCO model.
This week, we check with Lisa about our past predictions about Oregon’s version of Obamacare and where all this is headed.
Health Care as a Human Right
One prediction about was that the Democrats’ real motive was to turn our health care system into a single payer system—also known as “universal health care” or “socialized medicine.” This has been the dream of Oregon’s Democrats since Day One of Oregon’s health care transformation: a slow, steady lurch toward universal health care.
We can tell you that, exactly as we predicted, Legislators are right now in this session are trying to pass universal health care under the mistaken belief that health care is a “human right.”
Here’s reality. It is not a “right” if it depends on someone else providing it to you.
This is not about “rights,” as those who support single payer systems falsely proclaim (including Republican candidate for governor, Dr. Knute Buehler does) it’s about gaining power. Period.
And with Democrats firmly in control, the high costs of spending on Oregon’s health care transformation isn’t stopping nor will it go down. Not to mention plenty of other Democrat pet spending ideas. Think “Cap and Trade,” “Carbon Tax”, and “Sales Tax.” They’re all barreling your way.
Measure 101: They Lied
Remember Measure 101? Oregon’s new health insurance sales tax? Remember how they just needed this little bitty tax to “save” Medicaid? Remember how it was so desperately needed that if they didn’t get it, the poor and elderly would lose their insurance?
Yep. They lied about that too.

Oregon Democrats Punish Small Businesses
And don’t miss the discussion on yet new taxes, SB 1528B. The Oregon Democrats are working overtime to take away the very tax cuts Trump’s administration worked to get through. It is a tax on small businesses, including farmers and mom-and-pop stores—except for two professions. Tune in to hear who gets the loopholes.
