13-18 An Unforced Error Opens Oregon to Change | Shemia Fagan Scandal

13-18 An Unforced Error Opens Oregon to Change | Shemia Fagan Scandal

Show 13-18 Summary: The Shemia Fagan scandal broke this week and could have some far-reaching impacts — even the effort to get school choice in Oregon. Remember, the secretary of state oversees elections. And that means ballot initiatives like school choice. We ask Donna Kreitzberg about school choice’s ground game, some of the obstacles they have to overcome, and some of the reaction they’re already getting from signature gatherers out in the field. And, perhaps the biggest challenge ahead: countering the misinformation the other side has already been and will be putting out there in the months ahead. And then, a big political scandal rocked Oregon this week. Secretary of State Shemia Fagan was forced to resign. But is there more to Shemia Fagan scandal than what we’ve seen in the mainstream media?

This Week – Shemia Fagan Scandal

For those who knew Shemia Fagan, the scandal that rocked Oregon politics this past week is probably no surprise.

In case you missed it, Secretary of State Shemia Fagan got caught in a highly inappropriate side hustle. She was accused of taking $10,000 per month from a company her office is supposed to be overseeing. And she even did an audit of them. She did recuse herself from the audit. Except she lied about when she recused herself, not doing so until after the audit was completed. Oh, and did we mention she was also getting $30,000 per contract she secured for them?

That’s quite a bit of money for someone only making $77,000 per year. More than her entire salary. What could possibly be wrong with that? Well, pretty much everything from an ethics standpoint. You don’t take money from a company you’re supposed to be overseeing. Because that looks like a bribe. And you should not lie about your interactions with them. Because for someone who has (had) her law license, she definitely should have known better.

And isn’t that weird too. She suddenly re-applied for her law license back in February, a month before news of this broke into the public. Did she know the proverbial writing was on the wall then? Again, she should have known better—and, one assumes, did know—the moment she took the money.

Democrats and their Long Knives

democrats fight fascism by being fascistsA one-time rising star in the democrat party, democrats suddenly turned on Fagan. After initially denying any wrongdoing, democrats pushed Fagan to resign. Which she reluctantly did, Because even on the way out the door she still didn’t see anything wrong with what she did.

What was going on? And is there more to this story? And what now? As Secretary of State, Fagan had her fingers in a lot of pots. Including the Tim Sippel case, whom Washington County had sued to block the release of a voter database. Fagan swooped in out of the blue to join the lawsuit to block the release. Because nothing screams open, honest, and trustworthy like blocking the public from seeing what’s inside a public database. No. Nothing to see there. Peasants.

We talk with Marc Thielman, the former superintendent for the Alsea School District and candidate for Oregon governor, about the Shemia Fagan scandal. Was Governor Kotek using the scandal to eliminate a political rival? Don’t forget, the news about the Shemia Fagan scandal just happened to break in the Willamette Week. A paper Oregon’s attorney general’s husband just happens to own.

Gee. Weird coincidences.

We also talk with Marc about the school choice ballot initiatives, of which he is the chief petitioner.

Get involved! Head to EducationFreedomforOregon.com to download petition signature sheets and help them with a donation. Real school choice will bring desperately needed generational change to Oregon by breaking state-sponsored indoctrination in Oregon’s education system.

School Choice: Boots on the Ground

Before we talk with Marc, we talk with Donna Kreitzberg, who is spearheading the effort to get real school choice on the November 2024 ballot.

To get school choice in Oregon, it will be an uphill battle. Not least of which will be the financial hurdles. They will need at least $15 million to combat the misinformation, lies, and distortions the education lobby will put out there to desperately keep the status quo. Meaning they don’t want parents to decide where to send their children. Why is that, exactly? Shouldn’t everyone want parents to make the best choices for their children? Including the best education that best suites their children’s needs?

Donna talks to us about the operational and practical side of the fight. Like, what are her signature gatherers hearing from people about school choice? Yes, this will be a battle. Like, at a recent presentation in Portland, some liberal moms were initially opposed to the effort. But after the meeting, they came up and asked Donna how they could help. Tune in to find out what brought them around.

13-17 What are Oregon Democrats Up to Now? | Legislative Lowlights

Show 13-17 Summary: Oregon democrats continue to find new ways to emulate Nazis. You, your children, and certainly your money belong to the state. Democracy dies when democrats are in charge. It’s our monthly legislative update with Sen. Dennis Linthicum — hitting all the highlights and lowlights. Okay. There really aren’t any highlights. And the democrats STILL want to rob Oregon families of an average $5,200 kicker refund because they’ve discovered new ways to spend.

This Week – Oregon Democrats: Killing Democracy

Have you noticed that when democrats get in charge of something, the first thing they do is want to kill democracy?

But it didn’t always used to be this way. Democrats used to be about individual rights, civil rights, free speech, and so much more. Even Robert F. Kennedy recently pointed this out. Modern-day democrats have destroyed what the party used to be for.

Now, put them in charge, and their inner Nazi suddenly comes out. Democracy is about all voices. But democrats want to eliminate opposition. (Like the FBI going after Trump before, during, and after his presidency.) And not just politicians. Even every day citizens who don’t fall in line. (Like all those parents targeted by the FBI for daring to stand up to woke.)

The democrats hate being called Nazis. That’s their term for everyone else. But they hate it because it’s so blazingly true. That’s what they hate.

Monthly Legislative Update with Sen. Dennis Linthicum

This week, we talk with Senator Dennis Linthicum about the latest from the legislature. It’s not pretty. Not least of which because Oregon democrats, like Senator Dembrow, are steamed that things like democracy are happening. He’s ticked that republicans are slowing down the 1000s of bills democrats want to ram through. Dembrow hates that republicans have any say at all, apparently.

We talk parents rights. (Oregon democrats want to take them away.) And taxes—democrats can’t get enough of them. The business climate in Oregon. (Oregon democrats are trying to drive businesses out, apparently.) And we talk about that kicker refund. (Democrats want to spend it.)

There’s a business poll that came out recently and we get Sen. Linthicum’s take on it. It is not pretty. The thing is, Oregon democrats seem to not understand even basic economics. But why do you need economics if the government can just take everything, control the means of production, ensure only party loyalists are in business, and then tell people what they can and can’t buy.

You know. Just like the Nazis.

Oregon Democrats: Stealing your Kicker Refund

Oh, and that kicker? It’s not chump change. It kicks in whenever the state rakes in more than 2% above what they had budgeted. This year, it was 4% more. And the way it works is that it’s not based on what you paid. Instead, the giant pie (some $2 billion this year) is divided evenly among Oregon taxpayers. And this year, that’s about $5,200 per family.

But Oregon democrats have come up with new things they just have to buy. With your money. So watch for them to delay handing it back right up until the budget needs to pass. By law, the budget must be balanced. (Thank God Oregon democrats can’t just print money!) And legislators must balance it before the legislature can adjourn. So watch for Oregon democrats to try to strong arm republicans to spend all or some of the kicker to make up the difference or they can’t adjourn and go home.

Don’t miss this week’s show. Lots to discuss. Including Oregon democrats gleefully opening the door to Oregon becoming a “deathstination.” Happily willing to provide abortions and euthanasia for people from other states where killing isn’t allowed.

Get involved! Don’t be silent! It’s easier than ever now to let your voice be heard on bad — and the occasionally good — legislation. Head to olis.oregonlegislature.gov, type the bill number into the search bar (upper right), and you can send in your testimony.

12-40 It’s Stupid Politicians | When Economics Meets Politics

Show Summary: It’s the intersection of economics and politics this week. And what happens when economics meets politics…? Pretty much the same thing when you give a loaded gun to a toddle and tie yourself to a chair. Jonathan Williams from the American Legislative Exchange Council discusses what is so wrong with this economy. (It’s the politicians.) And don’t miss Joe Rae Perkins who is trying to get one of those stupid politicians out.

This Week – When Economics meets Politics

Imagine people who have no understanding of economics (stupid politicians) making decisions about the economy based on the advice of their donors, bureaucrats with agendas, and paid lobbyists.

It’s like being tied to a chair, watching a toddler play with a loaded pistol.

This week, we welcome back Jonathan Williams, who is the Executive Vice President of Policy and Chief Economist at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). Jonathan has a terrific article on the Daily Caller (), in which he neatly walks through what’s wrong with the economy right now and then provides some easy solutions. If only the current White House resident would listen. To someone other than his donors, bureaucrats with agendas, and paid lobbyists.

Go read Jonathan’s terrific article on The Daily Caller

Special bonus. Long-time I Spy Radio listeners may remember our previous shows about “market transformation.” In essence, “market transformation is a shortcut around a market. “Market transformation” allows favored, politically aligned companies to receive grants and other funding to bypass normal market barriers to entry, such as start-up costs and marketing. This is what we are seeing right now with our economy. You can see it especially with green energy. It’s not green and it’s barely energy. But it does make democrats and their political allies and ideology a lot of money.

Vote Out the Stupid

When economics meets politics, there’s just one solution. Vote the stupid out.

Because the problem with the intersection of economics and politics is that it puts the stupid people in charge. Stupid people, like Ron Wyden. Who has been in Washington DC since the 1990s. Ron is so stupid, he has an ad running right now that says no government should have control over a woman’s body. Really Ron? What about the vaccine mandates you were pushing  just months ago.

He also has an ad complaining about forest fires. Thanks for noticing, Ron, now that it’s election time. But it’s been your policies that causes them to burn. Do nothing. Blame Global Warming when all that dry kindling catches fire. Demand taxpayer dollars for Global Warming and green energy. (There’s that market transformation.) Still to nothing. Rinse and repeat.

Send some money Jo Rae’s way at perkins.vote. She needs help getting her ads on radio and TV. $50 would buy an ad play on many radio stations; in some markets as many as five airings

Jo Rae is up against the money that pours into democrat politicians who promise to do those market transformations. And those donors are terrified they will lose their golden goose if Ron goes the way of the dodo.

Let’s make stupid extinct.

Bonus: if elected, Jo Rae promises not to vote for Mitch McConnell.

Our Many Healthcare Crises, Part 2 | The Root Cause of Many of Them

Show Summary: When Obamacare was passed (rammed through without a single Republican vote), it was supposed to fix health care and lower costs. All those savings, remember? What happened? But there are more problems and more spending than ever. This week, we continue our talk with healthcare-system expert, Lisa Lettenmaier, but zero in on the two root causes of many of, if not all of, our many healthcare crises.

This Week – Our Many Healthcare Crises

We continue our deep dive into the problems plaguing our health care system—the many healthcare crises and the ever-growing expense. How is it that we are spending more than ever — by far! — on healthcare and yet it’s just one crisis after another?

But this week, we zero in on the two main problems. And they should be no surprise, really, for anyone who has followed I Spy Radio’s many shows on healthcare or for anyone who has a lick of common sense. The two root causes are money and government. Particularly, government interference.

Healthcare crises in the UK: "My cousin had to deliver his child because the ambulance said they’d take 4 and a half hours to come for his wife. What is the UK coming to? He had to watch a YouTube tutorial on how to deliver a baby."
Healthcare crises in the UK. THIS is what they want to emulate?

We bring back our healthcare system expert, Lisa Lettenmaier. Lisa is currently an insurance agent and owns Health Source NW. But her background is in accounting, overseeing budgets and forecasting for major companies. So when she looks at the healthcare crises, she is viewing it not just from an insurance standpoint but from a systemic-analyst’s viewpoint.

Need healthcare and not sure where to turn? Give Lisa a call. Her website is www.HealthSourceNW.com.  She helps individuals and businesses throughout Oregon and SW Washington make sure they have the right coverage for when, God forbid, they really need it. Will your policy cover what you think it does?

The Root Cause of So Many Healthcare Crises

This week, you’ll also hear an extended opener from I Spy Radio host, Mark Anderson, on the government’s interference — sabotage, really — of the normal free-market forces that would normally lower cost and improve care. Mark walks you through what a free market system would look like. Hint: we don’t have one now (remember Obama et al. when they were pushing Obamacare:  “the free market failed”?), not in health care. And he walks you through the government interfering with the free market, much of which can be traced back to a 1943 IRS ruling.

If you didn’t already think “they” are destroying things on purpose, you’ll believe it after this show. No one, no government, makes this many “mistakes” on purpose.

This week: Senator Dennis Linthicum (OR SD-28) joins us for our year in review as we  look back at 2021 and take a look ahead at 2022.

A Year in Review: The Good, the Bad, and the Democrats

Last week we talked with Alek Skarlatos about the democrats’ gerrymandered congressional districts. This week we look a little deeper. Yes, the democrat gerrymandering is a problem but there is another monkey wrench they threw in the elections gears in 2021.

Actually, it’s more of a sledgehammer.

Be sure to check out the resources below for more info on China’s social credit score system democrats want to bring to the U.S. If you thought CRT was bad…

We also look ahead at 2022 and the challenges ahead. There are some great Republican candidates for governor. And, yes, there is a potential monkey wrench there too. Betsy Johnson. While she would be a far better democrat candidate than the ultra far left Tina Kotek or the so-called “moderate” carpetbagger Nicholas Kristoff, she’s running as an independent. Not a democrat.

That says a lot, doesn’t it?

Because she must not believe an independent-minded blue-dog democrat can win in Oregon. At least not get the win in the democrat primary. How will a third-party candidate impact the race? Split the votes and ensure a democrat win? Or split the democrats and let a Republican slip by?

We also look ahead to 2022. What are some of the key issues for Republicans to run on and attract both non-affiliated voters. And even democrats? Here’s a hint: we talked about one of them last week.

This Week: With all these covid mandates and lockdowns and executive orders that have fines and punishments attached and yet aren’t really laws but are being portrayed as though they are—combined with our loss of freedoms, it’s hard to know where and how to push back. It’s bewildering. Wouldn’t it be nice to have an easy toolkit to take the guesswork out of it? Make things easy. And yet still be highly effective?

Well, look no further. We have it for you.

Covid Pushback

In all of this covid pandemic, it’s been the loss of our freedoms that is the most heartbreaking. The country our Founding Fathers gave their lives for, and our ancestors fought to maintain, is being stolen out from under us. Where did America go? When dictator-like governors, like Oregon’s, makes rules with whatever pops into her head.

Take a Stand! Text “stand” to 313131 to tell your legislators you believe in health freedom!

What’s worse is that these rules and mandates are designed to make us weak. We gained our freedoms by a commitment to God and country. We spoke with our fellow man. And we discussed and debated what freedom really was. We came together as a society. All these rules and mandates have driven us apart. They have kept us apart.

They have made us weak by taking away our normal means of standing up for the very freedoms being taken away.

The Next Phase: Covid Vaccine Passports

Have those in power learned a lesson? Do they fear the people—as they should? No. Those that have suffered no genuine pushback (like Oregon’s and New York’s governors) are more emboldened than ever. Which is why they are pushing now covid vaccine passports.

Make no mistake. These are completely modeled after China’s social credit score system. Doubt us? China has said they want to run the vaccine passport system. Because this hardened communist country that thinks nothing of murdering, imprisoning, and enslaving their own citizens totally want to make sure the rest of the world is free. Right?

Haven’t taken the covid vaccine yet? Thinking about it? Before you do, watch this short video.

What You’ll Learn This Week

We welcome Leah Wilson to the show this week. Leah is the co-founder and executive director of Stand for Health Freedom. We get to know her organization, what they do, and how they got their start—due to drugs being pushed onto helpless kids trapped in the foster-care system.

On this week’s show, you’ll get some clarity on the health care laws and rules out there. And some things you as an every day citizen can do. Not to mention what you can do to defend your business. We also talk about what’s happening right now in Oregon. The Petri Dish of Leftist politics and ideology.

Pay attention to Oregon. What happens here doesn’t stay here. It spreads like a disease, infecting other states. Right now, Oregon is on the verge of vaccine passports. We NEED to stop this. And here’s how.

Vaccine Passports Pushback: Tools to Win

Activism can be tough. It’s even harder when you don’t know where to start. Or you feel alone and powerless. Which is exactly how those in power want you to feel.

Well, no more. Now, using Health for Freedom’s simple, and easy to use tools, you can take a stand for freedom in as little as five minutes. You simply fill in some details and they do all the work for you. And it works.

Why? Because it applies the biggest pressure known to politicians: daylight. Politicians love to work in secret and not have people know what they’re doing. Stand for Health Freedom’s tools bring public exposure and lets politicians know you are watching them. You know. And you’re against it.

Face it. Politicians say they love democracy. But when it gets right down to it, they hate when people actually get engaged.

And that’s how you win.

Do it Now. Don’t Wait.

And time is of the essence. Oregon’s HB3057 that opens the door to vaccine passports breezed through the House. The bill will allow the Nazi-named Oregon Health Authority to disclose your “individually identifiable information and health status related to covid 19.”

Yep. It’s the vaccine passport. And, as we say, it already passed the House. Now it’s on to the Senate.

Why did it pass? Because people were silent. And not many people knew about it. That’s why it’s critical you get engaged right now.

And remember: if it happens in Oregon, it’s coming to your state too.

There are two ways to do it:

  1. Go to Stand for Health Freedom’s Take Action page. Select your state and look for the action items. And then just follow the simple directions
  2. Text the word “stand” (without the quotes) to 313131. Fill out the information and they will walk you through the rest.

The Covid Grand Jury

Remember two weeks ago when we had Dr. Henry Ealy on? He talked about the need to impanel a covid grand jury to dig into what really happened in the covid pandemic. The gain of function. How covid-19 was released in the first place. The involvement of our health departments. Dr. Fauci’s role. The bad data that led to the lockdowns. And so much more.

Now, you can help make that happen. Just head to SFHF’s petition page. Or simply text “CDC” to 313131.

Remember: being silent is how you lose freedoms. Don’t be silent.

The Beginning of the End? The Day the Hockey Stick Broke

Show Summary: Scientific American said that without Michael Mann’s “Hockey Stick” there would be no Global Warming Alarmism. Dr. Tim Ball won his lawsuit against Mann and his vaunted hockey stick—so is this the beginning of the end for the Climate Change movement?

Michael Mann's hockey stick launched Global Warming Alarmism

What is it that AOC has been championing?  Oh yes, we have 12 years to live. And while some of us are old enough to remember four previous “we only have 10 years to do something” events, she’s a good marketer because millennials are so terrified of global warming, they’ve been actually committing suicide over it.

Seriously.

It would be funny if it weren’t so sadly true.

Officialdom of Global Warming Scaremongering

One reason people take this nonsense of Global Warming seriously is because of official reports, like the UN Special Report on Global Warming, released in October, 2018. If you look through it, there it is: 2030 as doomsday. Just 11 years from now  as the point of no return—if we keep on our current path and don’t do something. And it’s mentioned 35 times in the report.

So, is it marketing? Or scientific research?

Mann’s Vaunted Hockey Stick

Back in July, we had Dr. Tim Ball on I Spy Radio to discuss American exceptionalism.  After our interview, Dr. Ball gave us a heads-up about some fake numbers and scaremongering the IPCC were releasing to prop up their global warming alarmism.  We penciled him in for early September.

But then something amazing happened. Because during our wait to have him back on, he won a huge, HUGE court decision on the defamation lawsuit brought by Michael Mann, the hockey stick inventor.  The hockey stick that has become the “proof” of global warming.

Hockey Stick or Science Schtick?

Dr. Ball had been sued because he’d taken Mann’s science to task and Mann, not appreciating anyone daring to doubt his science schtick, decided to sue Dr Ball over defamation.

But there was a problem when Dr. Ball asked for Mann’s evidence.  Mann wouldn’t deliver the computer program he’s used to interpret the numbers to arrive at his conclusions.

A scientist who didn’t want to reveal his data? Or his methods?  That’s a violation of a basic tenant of science: always show your work so others can independently verify it. Instead, Mann cried that his “proprietary information” couldn’t be revealed. Basically, Mann had created his own secret version of Microsoft Excel to interpret the data. No wonder then that no one else has been able to come up with the same results using the same data.

And that’s why it’s not so much a hockey stick as hockey schtick.

But it makes you wonder. If a scientist doesn’t want to reveal his data, is he a scientist? Or a marketer? Or a marketer pretending to be a scientist?

And ask yourself this. Why would Mann create falsified evidence of something that didn’t exist — unless he stood to profit from it?

Tune in this week for an inspiring and in-depth look at why you never give up. Especially when you’re right.

And what’s really exciting? Dr. Ball’s win may have saved the world from this ongoing hoax.

Original Air Dates: Aug 17 & 18, 2019 | John Solomon & Dr. Tim Ball

This Week:  In America we know our country isn’t perfect but it has the realization of someday getting there and we love her for that.  Such is the conversation that goes on now as we watch our government grapple with the huge mistakes it’s made. Some of them repeatedly. Mistakes that may have unnecessarily put men in jail or caused people to die— not to mention a massive abuse of power.

Abuse of Power

Two stories that are emblematic of this point are the investigations into the death of Jeffrey Epstein and the Russian hoax.  Both are important, and both exemplify government mismanagement and, quite possibly, deep corruption.  What’s troubling is both of these examples of corruption are right smack dab in the middle of our once-trusted Department of Justice.

Sadly, our government turned its moral compass upside down as insiders grapple to gain power.  We have to fix what some may feel is unfixable: a bureaucratic system that creates an environment where insiders aren’t responsible nor get punished.

John Solomon: Epstein, Comey, and the DOJ

This week we interview perhaps the nation’s top investigative reporter John Solomon, who has been exposing corruption for his entire career. He’s been on the Comey and Epstein case with unbelievable depth and insights. We’re honored to have him and in true I Spy Radio form, we actually let him talk and go in depth.

John takes us through the recent investigation of Epstein’s death and he delivers clear information of what are the facts of the story and where the investigation may still lead.  He also talks about Comey, who, so far, has escaped justice but there’s a steel trap that may (finally!) be coming his way.

Extreme Abuse of Power and the Immorality of those in Power

Then we talk with Dr. Tim Ball, who as an outsider living in Canada, gives us his perspectives on how other countries see the US investigations, the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein and Comey cases. Don’t miss the discussion on the Epstein case of the horrific abuse of power of those involved at the highest levels of government—including the Royal Family’s abuse of power as they become entangled in the Epstein case.

And the most shocking? The ultimate corruption: they believe it’s their right to abuse. They’re entitled to do what they want.

This is most definitely one of those shows you do not want to miss.
